Sälja ut för att sälja in? Eller...?
I dagens DN kan man läsa att kulturnämnden i Nacka, som första kommun i landet, beslutat att upphandla sin biblioteksverksamhet. Ett av Nackas bibliotek, Dieselverkstaden startade för några år sedan som ekonomisk förening, men drivs nu i aktiebolagsform. I och med beslutet tar man nu ett helhetsgrepp i kommunen. Panik och protester har inte låtit vänta på sig. Redan cirkulerar ett upprop som undertecknats av ett trettiotal författare, journalister m.fl. Är beslutet ett uttryck för trendkänslig populism där allt kan konkurrensutsättas? Eller är det en ärlig mening att försöka höja verksamhetens kvalitet? En sak att fundera över i sammanhanget är väl om ett så demokratiskt fundament i det svenska samhället som folkbiblioteken mår bra av att konkurrensutsättas på en fri marknad? Säger bara SJ, SJ, SJ!

You bring up a complicated question that has to do with the social contract between parties within a society, goods and resources available, and power as it applies to individual persons and groups. The main thing is to be careful with regards to words masking agendas designed to gather power towards malevolent players.
SvaraRadera"Right knowledge" and "right application" provide the way through the forest of competing words but in order to discover the path one must think deeply and determine who is and who is not a good guide and how one might best discover the difference. One important access point-there are more than one-to the path is the library coupled with a sense of wonder and the willingness to ponder complicated matters honestly.
